The African Sex Worker Alliance (ASWA) is a Pan African Alliance of sex worker-led groups that strengthen voices, empower communities, and advance health and human rights.

Founded in 2009, ASWA has grown into a continental movement of over 150 members across 38 African countries advancing social and economic justice.

Vision

A world where sex work is decriminalized, recognized, respected and free from stigma and discrimination.

Mission

To amplify sex workers voices, advocate for our human rights, and promote dignity and self-determination.

Goal

A strong, resilient and visible sex worker-led Pan African movement that is transformative and responsive to the lived realities of all sex workers in Africa.
