+254 740 956 150The African Sex Worker Alliance (ASWA) is a Pan African Alliance of sex worker-led groups that exist to strengthen their voices, to empower and to advocate for and advance the health and human rights of sex workers in all their diversities. ASWA was formed in February 2009 with an initial membership drawn from 10 African countries. ASWA is a growing alliance of sex workers and sex worker partners seeking to contribute to social and economic justice for sex workers in Africa. Its vision is a world where sex work is decriminalized, recognized, respected and free from stigma and decriminalization. Through this organizing ASWA presently has over 150 members from 38 African countries.
A strong, resilient and visible sex-worker led pan African movement that is transformative and responsive to the lived realities of all sex workers in Africa.

Grace Kamau holds a Bachelor Degree in Sociology and Political science from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
She identifies as a female sex worker and has worked in the HIV field in relation to key populations for 8 years.
She has previously worked at Bar Hostess Empowerment Programme (BHESP) as Program Officer and worked as a consultant with the Global Network of Sex Work Projects.
Her passion has been working with sex workers on issues of HIV prevention, human rights and movement building.
She has also worked as the National coordinator of the Kenya Key Population Consortium, and she currently works as the African Sex Workers Alliance Regional Coordinator in Nairobi.
She was recently appointed as a member of Feminist Opportunity Now (FON) Africa Regional Coordination Committee (RCAC).
Recently appointed as Mama Cash Supervisor Board member.
